Jenna Fischer has become best recognized as Pam Beesly, the character she portrayed on The Office. For this part, Jenna was honored with two SAG Awards in Outstanding Ensemble Comedy and an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Her mother, Anne was a performer in church theater as a child that instilled a love for theater and performances in Jenna. Jenna's mother Anne used to perform in dramas at church as a child which sparked an interest in theater.
She's an actress trained who returned to the stage after The Office. The Off-Broadway production Reasons to be Happy was written and directed Neil LaBute, with Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb and Fred Weller. Following her appearance in Steve Martin's most recent play Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy with Greg Germann & Josh Stamberg), she went on to perform the Old Globe Theatre's record-breaking world premiere.
In the month of October, Fischer and The Office co-star and best friend in real life Angela Kinsey launched a podcast called Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform. It has grown to gained immense popularity, settling on the Top Ten globally every week and receiving over 200 million downloads within its initial two years. The podcast premiered in January of 2021. Office Ladies won iHeart Radio's Podcast of the Year award.
She's also the author of The Actor's Life : A Survival Guide (coauthored with Angela Kinsey), in which her story of moving from St. Louis to Hollywood and becoming an actor is outlined. The Office BFF's : The Tales of The Office by Two Best Friends that Were There is also a memoir of Angela Kinsey and her relationship while working on The Office.
