Amy Lou Adams Amy Lou Adams born August 20, 1974 in Aviano Italy American actor. She is renowned for her critically-acclaimed portrayals of charming, innocent people. Adams was the youngest of seven children who lived when she was a kid in the city of Castle Rock, Colorado. Adams was born when her father worked in the U.S. Military in Italy. In the mid-1990s she began professional dancing and acting with Boulder's Dinner Theatre and the Country Dinner Playhouse in Colorado. In Minnesota she was employed at a regional theater where her character was in Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999) was a parody documentary about beauty magazines. After making her screen debut as a cute but serious contestant she moved into Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Between June 1951 and September 1962, she was married to the actor Tony Curtis. She is also the mother of Kelly Curtis & Jamie Lee Curtis. She was discovered by the actress Norma Shearer Leigh secured a contract with MGM and started her career as a film actress during the latter half of 1940s. Leigh was a star in a variety of cult films over the decade that followed, including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (from 1960) as well as Living It Up (1954) which starred Martin Lewis.
